Are you a passionate social dancer?

I mean REALLY passionate?

Are you madly in love with the friendly vibe and laid-back atmosphere of afternoon socials?

Great! We have the PERFECT event for you!

Join us for the BerlinSalsaMarathon 2020!

Let us invite you to 45 hours of social dancing,

with 250 like minded souls,

in a beautiful waterfront location in the heart of Berlin.

We are going to create a little social dancer's paradise for you,

with excellent music, lovely people and great dancing.

And food and drinks are included!

The Marathon concept

What makes a SalsaMarathon so special?

Those of you who have never been to a SalsaMarathon before

might be asking themselves what all the hype is about!

First of all it's all about social dance. Lots of it, too! And there are no shows and no workshops.

But beyond the dancing the beauty of a marathon is in it's warm and friendly atmosphere.

Marathons are much smaller than the average festival, with a cozy and laid-back vibe and enough time to chill and relax in between dances and to hang out with old friends and make plenty of new ones!

Food and drink are included at a marathon, to enable you to dance as long as your feet are willing without being distracted by a rumbling stomach and a threat of dehydration.

Another advantage of a marathon: they are gender balanced.

We will ask you to register for the event beforehand and will balance out leaders and followers, so that everybody gets to have the best time possible!

Our beautiful venue - the Bebop - is located directly on the banks of river Spree in the city centre right where cool Kreuzberg meets trendy Friedrichshain.

The Bebop has one huge ballroom with an excellent floor and a well balanced sound system, one smaller room for relaxing, eating and chatting with friends and a lovely outdoor area not only overlooking the river, but giving you a first row seat to the most beautiful summer sunsets against some of Berlin's most famous sights like the TV Tower and the East Side Gallery.

The neighborhood is vibrant – with great infrastructure like public transport day and night, numerous restaurants, as well as affordable hotels and a lot of friendly people sharing their flats on AirBnB.

A perfect starting point for sightseeing it is, too: Alexanderplatz and the TV-Tower are only a few stops away, as are the Brandenburg Gate and Friedrichstrasse. East Side Gallery is just on the other side of the river and within walking distance.

This is our beautiful ballroom:

And this the evening view from our terrace!

What else do you need?

You will need to eat and drink, right? Don't worry, we will take good care of you!

Saturday and Sunday we are going to start with a breakfast buffet at 12:00h to get everybody together and out of bed. If you feel you need that one precious hour of sleep more – breakfast is on until 14:00h.

We will be starting to dance at 13:00h - a little multi tasking might be necessary here, if you just made it to the venue, because the music is going to be great from the start!

But even the greatest breakfast doesn't last forever so at 19:00h we invite you to have a hearty dinner with us. And late at night when dinner is a mere memory and you start to get hungry again, we will make you happy with some yummy late night cake - which will keep you going for the rest of the night - at least until we feed you fresh croissants at 4:30h in the morning!

Still missing something? Are one of those dancers (like me) who not only like to dance a lot, but tend to sweat just a little? We have you covered: unlimited free water all day and night. Tea and coffee and a variation of juices also!

For those of you who are looking for something stronger: a fully equipped bar and our friendly bar staff will be waiting for your (not included) orders.

How to get to the venue:

In Berlin we are blessed with pretty efficient and pretty cheap public transport. Not that that would keep us from complaining about it all the time!

Our venue is right in the city centre with easy access to public transport and only a few minutes walking distance from metro stop "Schlesisches Tor" (lines U3 & U1).

Getting into the city from any of our two airports by public transport will only take 35 to 45 minutes costing you no more than 2,90 Euros from Tegel and 3,60 Euros from Schönefeld. No expensive airport trains or shuttles are needed!

How to get to the venue (the extended and super detailed version):

From Schönefeld airport:

- walk along the roofed walkway between Terminal A and C to train station "S-Schönefeld"

- buy a ticket for zone ABC at one of the many ticket machines (they have an English language menu) for Euro 3,40

Attention: please validate your ticket on the platform (look for a small red turnstile close to the stairs) or you risk a Euro 60,00 fine!

- take the train S9 from platform 13 and exit at station "Warschauer Strasse" (S9 runs approx. every 10-20 minutes between 5:00 and 00:45)

- switch at "Warschauer Straße" to metro line U1 or U3 and exit after one stop at station "Schlesisches Tor"

Attention: the metro runs above the city train there and not vice versa as usually!

- walk 3 min from station "Schlesisches Tor" to our marathon venue Bebop

From Tegel airport:

- walk to terminal A and buy an zone AB ticket at the ticket machine or at the vendor kiosk for Euro 2,80 (and don't forget to validate it!)

- take bus line 109 or X9 to the stop "Jakob-Kaiser-Platz"

- switch there to metro line U7 and take a train with direction "Rudow"

- get off at station "Möckernbrücke" and change to metro line U3 or U1 with direction "Warschauer Straße"

- get off at station "Schlesisches Tor" and walk 3 min to the marathon venue Bebop

From main train station "Berlin Hauptbahnhof":

- from the platform your train is arriving at, walk or take the escalator to platform 15

- all S-Bahn lines from platform 15 go through station "Warschauer Straße"

- get off and change to metro line U3 or U1

- get off after one stop at station "Schlesisches Tor" and walk 3 min to the marathon venue Bebop

Attention: some train tickets include Berlin local transport, some don't and you need to buy an AB time ticket for Euro 2,80! (And validate it, too!)

From train station "Berlin Ostbahnhof":

- walk to the exit near the main hall where Mac Donald's is

- either take a taxi (because Ostbahnhof is only 1,7 km from our venue)

- or take any S-Bahn line from platform 8 to station "Warschauer Strasse" and then continue as described as above

Arrival by car:

Be advised that the area around the marathon venue Bebop is an inner city residential area: parking spots there are free of charge, but hard to find. Once you have found one you better leave the car there for the weekend!

Alternatively there is a huge parking area at the Mercedes-Benz-Arena nearby, but that's 2 Euro per hour.
